City Hall

Another cracking day, and we decided to take in a boat-trip and a visit to city-hall.  So after some exciting bussing (routes 2 and 3) we got our tickets for the boat trip, and thought we would walk over to the cathedral while we were waiting for the boat.  Imagine our surprise when we discovered that the cathedral was actually the city hall, with tours in English every 1/2 hour.

It seemed rude to say no.

Did you know that the Nobel Prize Winners' Dinner is held in the city hall?  In the blue hall (which is not blue) And there are 101 councillors in Stockholm?

Stockholm Skyline

The view from beside city hall, back to the old town.

This is a famous square. You can buy this picture as a postcard, or a magnet.

Things to do in Stockholm when it is not raining.

What a hot day in Stockholm.  We suffered a very busy T-bana train and found ourselves out at the "Globen" stop.  Not being huge sports fans, this didn't mean anything to us, but I had read that there was a sky-ride available.  We have the Stockholm card, so although you can't reserve your space in these pods, they will accept you if there is space.

We turned up, and were given the next pod all to ourselves!  We found a price for booking a whole pod, and we saved a fortune today.

And the view from the top was pretty good too!

Sorry about the panorama. Some browsers will squash it down to fit the screen and others will widen the screen.
