Campingplatz Prahljust

We found ourselves heading up into the hills and ended up at Camping Prahljust.
Now I know that this looks like it came straight from the 70's, the site was beautifully clean, and did include a small pool, and took camping cheques.

A quick Map:

And a quick comment for now:

The reflection on the lake was almost perfect both at dawn and dusk.

Landschaftsschutzgebiet

Why use a sentence when one word will do?

Goslar

Goslar is twinned with Windsor.  I think. This is Goslar's Medieval Imperial Eagle. It has a lovely town square and a wee demonstration of it's history which is accompanied by the pealing of bells.  The town square fills up with tourists at the scheduled time, and we all turn and watch....  Lovely.

Thank you Granny Norma

Wonderchild1 hates spending money - even when she was given the money for her holiday. So she was delighted to buy us a single-scoop ice cream each from the money she was given by her Granny and Grandpa.

This was in Goslar. A single scoop was 80c, and with the weak euro, that made them about 64p each.  Beat that Scotland!

They were hosting the World Masters Orienteering Championships, so there were lots of old people looking a little lost.

Still not sure about this other lady...

Muenster is not Munster

One of the plans for this holiday was to save all the potential destinations in the sat-nav BEFORE we set out. Obviously this was never going to work, so as we left Rotterdam port, I managed to select Munster and not Münster.

You are now hoping that we drove for 14 hours in the wrong direction and ended up somewhere in Spain.... and sorry to say, we ended up heading completely the right direction, and No 1 child was on hand to sort out my spelling.

We nipped into Münster by bus, with a helpful bus driver selling us a 9 hour ticket.  There was some excitement as the builders were still working on the Cathedral.  No entry for us, but we managed to find a place for lunch instead.

And there was an excellent exhibition of cars from the 1950s and 60s.

No cameras, so no pictures of tiny little BMW's and Messerschmitts.

But excellent films of 1960's germans showing off in their Audis.  And a chance to sit down.....
